No Baggage despite booking with
At the point of booking I took a photo which confirmed hold baggage, in my email confirmation the baggage was not included.

Wasted a huge amount of time on theor Web chat function to then be ghosted, called their US helpline and told a more senior team would call after 5 working days, still nothing 3 weeks later. Latest attempt to contact through social media they confirmed I had baggage for my outward flight but not return despite the price stating return baggage. Asked them to ensure the baggage out was included to my booking and now yet again I've been ghosted. Fly next week so wish me luck sorting out in time!

Terrible service, do not trust their prices, of its cheap it means its too good to be true, avoid at all costs.

Really poor customer service
Really poor customer service. I have booked more than £10k of hotels through Expedia this year so far and it is impossible to have a view of what you've booked. The customer service (on the phone, through chat or Facebook) all don't understand the request or offer ask you to clear the cookies. Its a very poor experience so I would avoid if you car e at all about service.

Terrible Customer Support
I rented a car from LA to Denver and Expedia were the most competitive. Expedia sent me an agreement that stated; "Basic car rental - Included, Zero collision damage waiver - Included, Fees and Taxes - Included". So I was sorted!
Everything went well until I got the final bill after drop-off. There was a charge from the hire company for refuelling, which wasn't Expedia's issue and which I quickly resolved with the hire company direct.
However, there was still an outstanding charge of approx $40 which was a shortfall between what the total hire of the car was, and the value of the coupon that Expedia had paid them. No taxes or fees had changed between booking and drop-off, so I queried this with Expedia for a refund.
I was met with a stuck gramophone needle, repeatedly stating that the booking was for the basic car rental only, which didn't included taxes (even though the majority of the taxes were actually covered, barring this $40 shortfall). After nearly an hour of online dispute, the agent even sent me a copy of my agreement to prove her point... but even that stated "Fees & Taxes Included". It was like trying to reason with an automaton! Finally she had had enough and told me that she would raise a case that would be answered in 72hrs, and NOT to try to chase it up.
I received their response, which could have been written by the same agent, citing the contradiction to the actual agreement and insisting that I MUST pay the fee.
I replied, pointing out that all of the evidence was plainly there for me to now refer this to the relevant ombudsman and/or regulator, as they were clearly in breach of the agreement.
48hrs later, I got an apologetic email, stating that a refund of the $40 shortfall was being made to my account.
Satisfactory end result for not a huge claim, but the process and attituded to get there was appalling. If they had behaved like the hire car company did, we would have resolved the error in a few minutes. Many people would not have the time or patience to argue for such an amount... but maybe that's what they rely on.
I had, once before, sworn never to use expedia again because they wanted to charge a premium for a date change to my hotel, insisting that the hotel price for the new night was higher... while advertising it at the same rate that I already had to anyone who was making a new booking. I should have stuck with my previous decision. There are a lot of things not quite right with this company

Not worth at all
Me and my partner chose Expedia for our vacation even though our friends suggested us to go through better ones. Be careful while you book with them.
So our package included the flight and the hotel obviously. The flight was packed and we couldn’t keep our hand luggages and my wife had to keep hers and my bag pack below the seats. The four hour flight gave us no proper meal for 4 hours of journey. We landed at 4 in the morning and we were in the hotel by 6am and surprisingly the hotel said they can’t check us in as their checkin time is 2pm
How stupid can this be, so Expedia expects me and my wife to roam on the streets with our suitcases until 2pm. Or the hotel told us to pay extra! How funny! Somehow we fought and got in, there was a male without a T-shirt, people smoking to be honest it looked like a lodge and not a hotel. The hotel was sooo loud and whatever is spoken in the next room we could hear everything soo clearly. We were really disappointed. We couldn’t sleep as it was soo loud. We spoke to Expedia to change the hotel and we would pay extra and we were even ok with 5 star. The staffs from Expedia were amazing 😂, they kept us on the line for soo long and did nothing simply nothing. And they told us to pay penalty to change the hotel which about 200 pounds. Why should I pay 200 pounds when the fault was on their side. The hotel description in their site did not mention many things, the room was really small, I couldn’t sit on the commode as it was soo small, the hotel smells smoke, no microwave, no lights in the corridor, soo loud and the bedsheet had red stains and hairs. Not clean at all so why should I pay penalty, expedia did nothing to make us feel comfortable they in fact ruined it for us. We were ready to pay for the upgrade but why should I pay the penalty. The other funny part, our departure time was at 8 or 9 at night but we had to leave the hotel at 12 in the afternoon. How funny can Expedia be. The should at least inform the hotels to keep their customers or they should arrange a proper flight time. Very bad service
Even my friend had to pay because they landed early and they couldn’t check in until 2pm. Very bad service

Please do the right thing, Expedia
Dear Expedia,

Expedia Itinerary number: 72265604518057 Angela, the manager of the Mercure Inverness Hotel, put a no charge on my reservation. She told me that she has not received any money from Expedia as of yet. That amount is CAD $657.94.

Air Canada changed my departure flight from July 12 to July 15. Expedia has a waiver stating that if flights are changed by the airline, refunds will be issued even if the hotel has a no refund policy.

Expedia Itinerary number: 72265636731036
The reservation for North Star Glamping for Friday, Jul 15 also had to be cancelled due to Air Canada's cancellation of the July 12th flight. This amount is CAD $215.33

Expedia Itinerary number: 72345625719652
Yesterday, flight AC 860 was delayed leaving Vancouver by 2 hours due to a flat tire. I was unable to make my connecting flight to Inverness yesterday. Now I am to be charged for that booking at Jury's Inn, Inverness. That amount is CAD $263.24.

That is a total of CAD $1136.51. That is a lot of money for me. I always book through Expedia. I am begging you to do the right thing and refund me the money for these bookings. If you don't, I will never use Expedia again and I will make public my request to be reimbursed and Expedia's refusal to do the right thing by its customer.

Thank you,
Angela Griffin

If I could I would give them -500 stars…
If I could I would give them -500 stars. They are such a bad company, do not use. My mum wanted to go to Africa for her 40th birthday so she booked it. A few months later Expedia messaged and said that one of our flights were cancelled. She went on several hour-long calls and they were insisting they can’t do anything about it. She then asked if they could offer a refund for just that flight but they were insisting that they can only give a refund for the whole holiday or nothing. She went on several more hour-long calls and it felt like she was just going in circles. At the moment we think we will have to cancel because of how bloody useless the customer support is. NEVER USE EXPEDIA. USE ANY OTHER COMPANY THAN THEM.

Really disappointed with Expedia
Really disappointed with Expedia - first holiday in 3 years and it’s been an awful experience- very stressed and annoyed. We booked flights London to Durban - our return flight Durban to Johannesburg was cancelled with Cemair as it went bust. No help to book a different connecting flight. I took out insurance but this didn’t matter at all. I was advised to cancel the whole trip and rebook, this would then increase a very expensive flight by another £3,500.00. Every time I phoned, about 7 times, everyone was very unhelpful and there was nothing they could do to assist me. I was told on 4 occasions I would be contacted in 72 hours, I am still waiting! I have had to book a separate flight now with no recompense. Our flight from Johannesburg to London has been changed, however the app is still showing original flight details and times. If it was possible to give 0 stars I would. Very poor service! Don’t use Expedia and don’t bother with insurance!

Re-booking rip-off of £300+ VS. new customer
Booked flights and hotel together which then had to be cancelled as the US had opened up yet.
Went to re-book and couldn't use credit on the website so needed to call them. When I spoke to them I was informed I couldn't book the hotel and flights together (which would save me over £300) and had to book them separately.
I ended up booking my flights using the credit and then booking a hotel through another company to avoid giving Expedia any more of my business.
It also didn't help that the volume of their customer service rep. along with their really thick accent made it very difficult to understand what they were saying and for me to have any confidence that they understood what I was saying.
I will never be using them again.

Steer clear, for your own sanity!
Absolutely rotten. Indicative of the age? Nobody cares, you have to constantly chase and remind people to do their jobs, and as Expedia is the agent / broker/ middle man and has already taken your money, nobody is accountable when things go wrong.

Expedia has sapped days of my life. I have wasted hours typing and waiting on agents to read the case notes on the ridiculous chat function, or holding while they say they are contacting customer services about my issue, all to no avail. Then explaining all over to new agents each time you follow up to remind them they still haven't done what they promised they would. Thoroughly nightmarish; most people probably give up seeking redress and refund - but who has money to waste? And it's the principle. To treat people this way is a disgrace.

If I could give negative stars, I would.

I can categorically say that my Expedia account will be deleted and I will NEVER use this company again. I will also NEVER speak of it in positive terms to anyone. Avoid at all costs.

100% refund on hotel+flight package is not actually 100% refundable
Evening

I recently made a booking with Expedia for a Hotel & Flight package which stated it was 100% refundable if I cancelled the booking within 4 days of travel.

I decided to cancelled the trip 3 months prior to my travel to be told that its only the hotel that is 100% refundable and the flights are non-refundable.

Numerous messages via chat and eventually a 60 minute call with an agent only to be told there is nothing they can do and I cant make a formal complaint so at present I'm £450 out of pocket.

Booking was very misleading and customer service poor, why would I only want to cancel the hotel and not my flight, very unhelpful and the issue is currently unresolved but Expedia don't care.

Terrible from start to finish
I had booked flights to Japan in September, the flight home had been cancelled and there was an alternative provided which was fine. Though once they realised it was a downgrade Expedia then cancelled our entire booking rather than coming to a compromise. Given it was booked a number of months ago, the flights are now double the price. No other option given, 5 separate phone calls and hours wasted with only “there’s nothing I can do” response.

Bad experience
Bad experience. I bought a holiday pack (Flight + Hotel) and a few weeks before the trip they canceled our hotel for no reason. They refund the money for the hotel but not the money for the flights. We spent a week calling them to receive a solution. The attention and the management quite bad.

Made me wait over 2 hours
I rang Expedia lot over and over again over 4 days regarding my flight. I had sent of an application to make my new born daughters passport and to renew my wife’s passport and it took too long to come as waiting for passports is very long. The flight for my daughters and wife’s were due soon and I had a feeling the passports wouldn’t arrive on time so I constantly rang Expedia for advice on what to do. The service was absolutely rubbish. All I wanted to know was whether is was best to postpone the ticket or cancel it. They made me wait over 3 hours just to give me wrong information and stupid prices that didn’t even make sense. The person on the phone was very rude, he didn’t have a clue what he was doing so I asked him to put me through to someone that knew what’s what or his manager but he refused to do so. I will never ever be using this Expedia company again and also will make sure I tell everyone about this horrendous experience. I was writing this review only to realise that they are already rated only 1.2 stars. Why didn’t I just check the rating before I booked through Expedia? ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!

Absolutely ridiculous.
Absolutely ridiculous.
A family member has come over to the UK from Austria for a few weeks.
Booked the flight with cached details and didn't realize it until check-in. couldn't check her in so called the number it gave me on the error. They checked her in with the itinerary number and sent the boarding pass. It was then I noticed the name was wrong. She has changed her name since so ticket and passport don't match.
Tried to get the name changed for the 1st flight. they just never got back to me. Luckily, she has the papers of the name change to prove her identity, so the airline allowed the flight.
Flight 2 is coming up going back, again trying to change the name but emailed them this time with all relevant documents attached. Promise to get back in 48hrs. However, a week later still nothing.
I think we will be OK with the papers again, but what a waste of time..
I won't be using Expedia again.
